Mardi Himal Trek Cost – An Easy Escape into the Himalayas

Last month, I finally did the Mardi Himal Trek, and it was one of the best short treks I’ve ever done in Nepal. This trail is not very crowded, and the mountain views are just amazing. We saw Mount Machapuchare (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli up close. The trail goes through green forests, peaceful villages, and open ridges. It felt like a quiet escape into the heart of the Himalayas. The Mardi Himal trek cost starts from $470 per person, which is great if you want a short and beautiful adventure without spending too much. If you travel in a group, there’s a special discount too.

Why I Chose Mardi Himal

I have been trekking in Nepal for many years. I have done some of the big trails like Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit. This time, I wanted something easier, shorter, and more peaceful. Mardi Himal looked perfect. It’s close to Pokhara and takes only about 4 to 6 days depending on how fast you go. The trail is simple, but the views are just as stunning as the longer treks.

We started from Kande, which is about an hour’s drive from Pokhara. From there, we walked through rhododendron forests and small villages like Forest Camp and Low Camp. As we went higher, the view of the snow-covered peaks got better and better.

Amazing Views and Quiet Trails

One thing I really liked about this trek was the peace and quiet. There weren’t too many people on the trail. That made it easier to enjoy nature. The forests were full of birds, and we even saw some wild monkeys on the way.

When we reached High Camp, we stayed in a small teahouse. The sunset was magical, with golden light hitting the white mountains. The next morning, we hiked to Mardi Himal View Point. The path was steep but not too hard. When we reached the top, we saw a full view of Mount Machapuchare and the Annapurna range. It felt like we were standing in front of giants.

Friendly People and Good Food

Along the way, we stayed in teahouses. The rooms were simple but clean. The people were very kind and always ready to help. They served hot food like dal bhat, noodles, and soups. In the evening, we sat around the fire, drank tea, and shared stories with other trekkers. Even though we were high in the mountains, it felt like home.

We met a few local shepherds too. They told us about their life in the mountains and how they live with nature. It made the trip even more special.

Short but Sweet

The Mardi Himal Trek is not long, but it gives you everything — great views, peaceful trails, and local culture. You don’t need to be a very strong trekker to enjoy it. Even beginners can do it with a bit of preparation.

Final Thoughts

If you are looking for a short and beautiful trek in Nepal, Mardi Himal is a great choice. The Mardi Himal trek cost starts from $470 per person, which is very affordable. And if you’re coming with friends or family, there’s a group discount too.

I really enjoyed this trek. It was quiet, beautiful, and not too hard. We laughed, walked through the forest, watched the mountains, and felt free. If you want to feel close to the Himalayas without walking for weeks, this is the trek for you.
