Regarding a cycling holiday in Kerala, we believe there’s no better way to take in the state’s calm beauty and strong traditions. At Cycling In India, we’ve spent years crafting trips that don’t just take you to Kerala’s most famous places but also the quieter, lesser-known spots that make this region truly special.
What Makes Kerala a Great Place to Cycle?
Kerala, often called “God’s Own Country,” is known for its green hills, backwaters, and peaceful way of life. It’s a place where the roads wind through spice plantations, tea gardens, and small villages, each with its charm.
On our Kerala cycling holiday, we start from the coastal town of Kochi and ride through some of the state’s most beautiful regions—Thattekad, Munnar, Thekkady, Vagamon, Kumarakom, and Alleppey. Whether cycling through the Cardamom Hills or cruising on a houseboat in Alleppey, each day has something different.
A Well-Balanced Itinerary
We’ve planned this tour to suit serious cyclists and those just looking for a different travel experience. Most days cover around 40 kilometres, which gives you plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings without feeling rushed.
The uphill stretch through the mountains can be challenging, but the views and the following calm make it worth it. And for those who want a little help, e-bikes are available.
More Than Just a Ride
This tour is not just about cycling—it’s about taking in the life of Kerala. We walk through the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, visit the Periyar Tiger Reserve by boat, and enjoy the green fields of Vagamon. You’ll also have the chance to see Kumarakom’s backwaters by canoe and spend a night on a traditional houseboat in Alleppey.
Every meal is a chance to try something new. From fresh fish curry to coconut-based vegetarian dishes, Kerala’s food adds another layer to the trip. We make sure our riders are well-fed and comfortable, with fresh fruit, snacks, and plenty of water available during the cycling days.
Reliable Support Every Step of the Way
We take care of all the small things so you can enjoy the ride. From providing well-maintained Trek bikes to having a skilled cycle mechanic and backup vehicle, we’ve got your back throughout the trip. Accommodation is on a twin-sharing basis, and all meals are included.
We also handle transfers, entry to certain parks, and even tolls and driver allowances. While the tour cost doesn’t include flights or travel insurance, we’re always happy to help with those arrangements if needed.
Why Choose Us?
We’re not a typical tour company. We’re cyclists, which shows in how we plan and run each tour. We understand what riders need and what makes a trip like this special.
Our Kerala cycling holiday combines nature, food, culture, and road—offering something for every kind of traveller. If you want to experience Kerala slowly and thoughtfully, we’d be glad to have you on the ride.
